Most of the theme parks accessible from Cumbria really need a car. Alton Towers is not really possible for a day trip as there is no station anywhere nearby, although buses run there from Derby. Camelot is probably your nearest – it’s not far off the M6 but the nearest railway station would be Preston which is quite a way away.
