Which TEFL / CELTA course should I choose?

Which course you choose should depend on your current level and eperience in teaching English, your current location and your nationality. Regarding your experience and level, don’t take a CELTA unless you have at least 2 years teaching experience and a basic TEFL certificate already. In my opinion the CELTA is so intense that it is NOT a course for beginners. If you are a beginner teacher then there a lot more cheaper courses you can take which will get you a decent entry-level job. Regarding location, why incur extra expense going to another location to learn? If there isn’t a course local to you and you are after a first qualification then go online. There as well accepted these days for entry level jobs as in-house courses. Regarding nationality. I wouldn’t bother going to Eastern Europe unless I had a passport from a European country. You won’t be able to work there after your course anyway (or not without a LOT of visa hassle).
