Which TCP/UDP ports do the Codian products use ?
• FTP – TCP:21 + TCP ephemeral (i.e. dynamic rather than fixed) ports used for passive mode • HTTP – TCP:80 • H.323 – TCP:1720 + TCP ephemeral ports for incoming calls • RTSP – TCP:554 • Outgoing H.323 calls will involve TCP connections from TCP ephemeral ports to TCP:1720 + a TCP ephemeral port • Media will be UDP from ephemeral ports to ephemeral ports The Codian products allocate ephemeral ports in the range 49152 to 65535. It is not possible to change the ports on which Codian products receive and establish connections. For instance, H.323 calls must always be placed to port 1720 and web browser connections always to port 80 – these are the default ports for the H.323 and HTTP protocols. The same constraints apply to outgoing calls established from Codian products to endpoints or gateways, and so such equipment that needs to be called by a Codian device must be configured to receive its connections on the default ports (e.g. TCP port 1720 for H.323 video calls).
