There will generally be no conflict between the two Acts, if in doubt always contact the Freedom of Information Officer. If you receive a Subject Access Request for information in respect of personal data you should immediately pass the request to the Freedom of Information Officer, who is also responsible for coordinating the University’s response to the Data Protection Act 1998.
