Which system is best, open or closed loop?
The net results in operating cost and efficiency are virtually the same. Which system you choose depends on whether you have an adequate ground water supply and a means of disposal. If you do, an open system can be used effectively. If not, either a horizontal or vertical closed loop system is your best choice. Over a period of time the closed loop system offers less maintenance because it is sealed and pressurized, eliminating any possible build up of mineral deposits.
