Which surface of glass to be etched (i.e. 1st or 2nd)?
Is there a high traffic side of the glass? Frosted glass (if not treated with Sealex) can be soiled from handling. If there is a side of the glass that is less likely to be touched by others, it is recommended that the frosting be on that surface. Surface reflection can wash out the frosted surface. The frosted areas of the logo block the surface reflection which makes the logo easier to view. A frosted logo can be enhanced or highlighted with proper lighting such as spotlights. 2. Positive or Negative etch? In most cases, Logo’s or graphics with small, fine or intricate detail on clear glass will be greatly enhanced when the background is frosted and the detail left clear. This is commonly referred to as a negative etch. 3. Surface etch or depth carve? Tempered glass cannot be deep carved safely.
