The album features lyrics with various subjects such as society, laziness, self-indulgence, relationships etc. On an episode of MTV Cribs featuring drummer Steve Jocz’s house, frontman and guitarist Deryck Whibley said that the majority of the songs for All Killer No Filler were written in Steve’s basement. The title may be a reference to the Jerry Lee Lewis album All Killer, No Filler: The Anthology. As of 2006 the album has sold 1 million copies in USA and is 3x platinum in Canada, making it Sum 41’s best selling album to date.
