The suffix “E” denotes the mechanical permanent unlocking function. This additional function is only possible with fail-locked strikes with the exception of security strikes. Instead of the unlocking lever an adjusting screw is used with water-resistant door strikes or strikes for swing doors. Equipping the door with an additional door closer prevents the door from staying open if it has been forced open by a gust of wind or differences in air pressure.
