Which store is cheaper MIchaels or Hobby Lobby for painting supplies?

Neither one is really ‘cheapest.’ Michael’s is a chain store owned by Aaron Brother’s Art Stores with over-priced art materials. Hobby Lobby stores are ‘franchised’ stores catering to the housewife type hobby weekend painter and they, too, are over-priced. Both Michael’s and Hobby Lobby have inflated prices. Even when you think you’re buying something from Michael’s ‘on sale’ you’re still paying more for your art supplies there than you would at either Blick’s or Pearl’s for their regular prices. Your best bet, depending on where you live, is to look for a Blick’s, a Pearl’s or a Urtech near you. If you don’t have any of these three near you then a regular local art supply store will still be cheaper than either Michael’s or Hobby Lobby.
