Which song format occupies less space in phone – mp3 or AAc format?

Actually it depends. What i do is that i converts mp3 songs to AAc format. But that does not exactly works for all file size. For example for songs that are 4,5mb and bigger in mp3 format, when you convert them to AAc format, they tend to be smaller in size, thus occupying less space in the phone. But sometimes, for songs that are 3mb+ in size in their original mp3 format, when you convert them to AAc format, they naturally is about the same but there are times when they are actually bigger in file size in AAc format. But technically speaking, AAc format should tend to occupy less space in phone, that is unless your original mp3 file already is of a reasonably or small file size. Well, just for a side note, what i do is i basically converts the songs i want to put into my phone from their mp3 format to AAc format first. Then, i compare to see which one is of a smaller file size. And yes, this might be quite tedious at times but to me, it helps a lot as this way, i can have extra spaces
