Which sociologist had the “glass ceiling theory”?

The Glass Ceiling is a concept not a theory, it arose from all the equal opportunities legislation and relaxation of employment laws that was designed to open up the world to women and other groups such as ethnic minorities. The law created the environment but the reality was and still is in some industries a myth. The legislation is there but lip service is given to it and while many can see the top jobs and see the road to them when they get so far up the glass ceiling that is invisible holds them back and their progress is slowed or halted. I have no idea where the term originated but have never come across anyone that has had it attributed to them as a theory.

Most of the information I have looked at refers to the Glass ceiling as a term and not a theory. It mainly refers to the differences within employment etc between men and woman, the only relay useful resources I found was in Google books the link is bellow.
