Well, there is one side of the political spectrum that thinks what they want to be true is always true, regardless to what the world experts on the subject think. Were the catastrophic results of the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld administration a myth? Of course not. The fact is that administration was the most inept, ill administered, corrupt since the Tea Pot Dome Scandal of the early 1920’s under Harding. Economically, it took vast federal interference in the otherwise reliance of the free enterprise system to pull us out of our economic doldrums. We are still feeling the affects of the fallout of a dismal economic record of 8 years of favoritism, “looking the other way” while their rich buddies had their hands in the proverbial cookie jar. Foreign policy was in a shambles, and again, we are mired in a war in Iraq that we had no business throwing hundreds of billions of dollars towards this misadventure. We effectively destroyed a natural, political buffer versus Iran and Ahmadinejad when we dismantled Iraq’s government and military. I can only reply to this within the boundaries under which I exist in the so called Western World. There are ‘God Botherers’ on all sides of the current political spectrum who accept the myths as portrayed in the Middle Eastern collections of folk tales contained in the Islamic Koran and the Christian Bible. There is no way it can be accepted as just a left/right issue, all are just as guilty of this dangerous misjudgement as the other! The problem with this that when a majority of these people gain power their rule contains many attributes of dogmatic misrule.
