Which SCSI commands will utilize the data object directory and provide the best file search performance?
The Locate and Space commands both use the data object directory. The Locate command uses an absolute block address, while the Space command uses an address relative to the current block address. When trying to reach a particular block, issuing either of the single commands Locate, Block or Space, Blocks will give better performance than issuing the two- command combination Space, Filemarks and Space, Blocks.
