Man’s ability to harness the energy produced by fire is the most important scientific achievement because it opened to door to many future scientific discoveries. For example: Metallurgy allowed humans to make advances in weaponry, agriculture, and art. Metallurgy was not possible without the use of furnaces fueled by fire.
