Which Russian Czar Took Control Of The 1805 Battle Of Austerlitz?
Well one cannot exactly say that the Russian Car took control of the 1805 battle of Austerlitz but he did put up a valiant effort. The battle of Austerlitz which transpired on 2nd December, 1805 is also known as the Battle of the Three Emperors because the Russian Czar Alexander I, Emperor Franz of Austria and Czar Alexander I was involved. The battle was a thumping victory for the French united under the marshalled forces of Napoleon against the Third Coalition comprising Austria, Great Britain, Sweden, Naples and Russia. Though Napoleon’s army was no match for the impressive might of the coalition, the shrewd emperor won the battle through a clever subterfuge. The impact was so strong that Alexander I had no option but to retreat his army from the campaign itself, and march toward Russian Poland. After his departure from the war, Emperor Franz offered for the Treaty of Pressburg (1806), which end the war and wound up the coalition.
