Which running back would you use Week 1: Jamaal Charles, Joseph Addai, or Ronnie Brown?
— Matt Miller SW: Now here’s an example of a perfectly reasonable question. I see a clear dilemma between the three running backs. All three have good matchups, and all three are expected to handle the majority of their teams’ carries. My choice is Brown, and I say that as a guy who generally doesn’t like to make too many lineup tweaks at the start of the season, when every team more or less has a clean slate. That matchup at Buffalo is just too enticing. The Bills gave up 156.3 rushing yards per game last year — third-most in the NFL — and Brown himself torched them for 115 yards and two touchdowns in Week 4. Most of the time, you’ll probably want to start Charles, who was the higher draft pick and has the higher ceiling, but Brown might have ranked right up there with Charles if not for his injury history. When healthy, he’s been as reliable as they come. Better take advantage of him while he lasts. And if you have the luxury of sitting Charles (which most teams don’t), you get a
