Which research degrees are available at Roehampton University?
The University offers two ‘true’ research degrees; the MPhil (considered a Masters-level qualification by most institutions) and the PhD (a Doctoral level qualification). PhD students normally enroll for the degree of MPhil initially and ‘upgrade’ to Doctoral status part-way through their programme, subject to satisfactory progress. The University also offers a number of Professional Doctorate programmes; the EdD, the PsychD Counselling Psychology and the PsychD Psychotherapy & Counselling. Students on these courses undertake a series of taught modules during the first years of study, followed by an extended independent research project in the final years. The University also offers the PhD by Published Works programme and the PsychD Forensic Psychology.
