Which RAF planes in WW2 carried search lights up with them to use in night fighting over Britain?

There was some experiments that were conducted to make planes less visible in daylight from a distance by putting lights on planes. It was thought that by making them as bright as the sky behind them they would be less visible. The experiments were thought to have been pretty much successful but the idea was never put into operational use because it was thought that the idea had only limited use.

I seriously doubt that ANY plane in World War II carried search lights. The aircraft would be clearly visible to hostile forces on the ground who would proceed to shooting the searchlight-carrying plane out of the sky. The whole point of night fighting is to stay out of sight (that’s why they flew at night and not day). Anyway, the RAF fighters should be good enough to spot the Nazi bombers; that’s their job.
