Which quarterback will eventually beat Brett Favres record(s)?
Peyton manning has the best chances of beating Brett Favres records. Even though his favorite target marvin harrison has showed some severe signs of aging and they have finally established a run game peyton manning still has dallas clark and reggie wayne and a coach that puts the ball in his hand so in my mind Peyton Manning is the closest active player to beating brett’s records. But how lucky are we to be alive to watch Brett Favre play.
Peyton Manning has the best chance, but it will not be easy. Currently, he is pretty far behind in all records, and I would expect Brett to play at least 1 more season, possibly 2. That will pad his numbers even more and make it harder to catch him. Tom Brady is the next closest after Manning, but I think the only one Brady has a shot at is career wins. Statistically, other then this season,he hasn’t had that great of stats. The current records he holds are (as of 11/27/07) Career Passing Yards 61,558 Career Passing Attempts 8,747 Career Completions 5,368 Career Touchdown Passes 440 Career Wins as a Starting QB 159 Consecutive Games Started 252 Peyton manning Career Stats Career Passing Yards 41,531 Career Passing Attempts 5,389 Career Completions 3,454 Career Touchdown Passes 306 Career Wins as a Starting QB 105 Consecutive Games Started 159 Brett Favre has 7 more years in the NFL, and sitting on the bench his first year in Atlanta hurt his stats. If you look at the averages, Peyton M
You’d have to be more specific on which records you’re refering to. Brett Favre has so many that I doubt ALL of them will be broken, espescially a few of them. 12-29-07 Career Passing Yards – 61,558 I’m pretty sure he’ll hold onto this one for a while, but eventually, Peyton Manning will break it. My guess is around 2014. Career Touchdown Passes – 440 Again, this’ll probably be Manning who takes Favre off of the top spot. He is, after all the closest active player at 303. But seeing as how Brett is still playing now, and I don’t see him retiring after this season, I think Manning will wind up just short. And no, Tom Brady won’t come close to Favre. He hasn’t been tested for longevity yet. Career Wins – 159 Well, Geez, you think the way the Colts and the Patriots are racking up wins lately, he’d lose this spot for sure. But my guess is, no current quarterback will beat him. Consecutive games started – 252 Brett is THE Iron Man. End. Of. Story. No one will ever beat our boy for toughness
