Which publication of Jehovahs Witnesses says that Jesus is “only” the archangel Michael?
There is no statement that over that past 4 decades that I can remember that states Jesus is ‘only’ the archangel Michael. It has always been in reference to his status of being the one who had the superior position over Jehovah’s angels and the one that God would have direct the angels. This is in harmony of him also being called the “Word”, the one whom God spoke through to all of his creatures, great and small. The “Word” is a title, the archangel is a title, but Michael is a personal name. They object that he might like his name, which preexisted the name “Jesus” by billions of years. It is funny that they will claim that God has ‘many names and titles’ yet his Son can only have one. Of course they do object to God having a “personal” name, that he self identify by. That is why the modern Bibles have reduced “Jehovah” to a title “the LORD” or “the LORD GOD”. Sigh.
