Which pond heater is better for a 1400 gallon?
Have you looked into the cost of running a pond heater? they cost a LOT to run for example: For a 2000 gallon pond, running a 2Kw electric heater over the 4 months from November to February. Assuming that the heater will be working 18 hours each day (this will vary depending on the temperature required) and that 1Kwh costs 10p: 120 days x 18 hours = 2160 hours 2160hours x 2Kw = 4320 Kwh 4320 Kwh x 10p/Kwh =£432 the fish will grow if you feed them a good quality growth food through the summer months-I live in Scotland and only feed from May to September/October and my fish grow and breed fine.
