Which place is better to dine and drink…the O2-greenwich or leicester square london?
For me, it’s got to be Leicester Square but not the restaurants on the Square itself. You can simply walk through into Chinatown and feast on dim sum at Joy King Lau or Taiwanese food at Keelung, or try Malaysia Kopi Tiam on Charing Cross Road. Even the cheesy chips and milkshakes at Ed’s Diner in Soho are a guilty pleasure. Just make sure you avoid the tourist classics – Garfunkels, Angus Steakhouse, Chiquitos, etc. You’ll pay ridiculous prices for reheated junk and that’s not fun at all. As for drinking, well you’re spoiled for choice – from smart hotel bars to cheap 2-for-1 drinking dens, you’re bound to find somewhere you like. In contrast, ALL of the restaurants inside the O2 are chains and not very good ones either. The only place I would even consider eating would be at the Gaucho Grill or Pizza Express – at least you know what you’re getting there. There is also nothing else in North Greenwich except the O2 so your options are much more limited. Edited to add: terryellis, actua
