Which person is considered to be a matchmaking God?
The matchmaking god Leigh Devore, in Charisma Magazine, says that “Romance is one of God’s most unique specialties. He brought the world’s first couple together, and He still delights in arranging marriages.” That has to be one of the stupidest statements I’ve read in a long time. It goes downhill from there. Leigh Devore has a lot more to say about her wonderful matchmaking god who “brought the world’s first couple together.” That doesn’t make sense, though. In the most recent creation story (Genesis 1) god created the first couple as a couple. The older and more primitive story (beginning at Genesis 2:4) says the woman was created from the rib of the man. She was “Adam’s rib.” So, to say God brought them together is really incorrect. http://mythandhope.blogspot.com/2008/07/matchmaking-god.html Here is the article: Romance is one of God’s most unique specialties. Patti Stanger, of TV’s Millionaire Matchmaker, considers herself to be a matchmaking god. In 2000, Stanger founded Millionaire’s Club, a matchmaking service in Los Angeles, California, because she felt that successful men in the dating arena needed a private, exclusive club where they could come to find their beautiful and intelligent wives. Introduction services in the new millennium were, after all, “no longer only for the dateless and desperate, and were becoming far more acceptable and mainstream.” In 2008, Stanger signed a deal to have her own reality show: “Millionaire Matchmaker” on the Bravo TV Network. The hour-long show follows her matchmaking at Millionaire’s Club; each episode usually features her matchmaking two millionaires. Not only does Stanger star in the program but she also produces the show. On it she claims a 99% success rate. In 2009, her first book, “Become Your Own Matchmaker: 8 Easy Steps for Attracting Your Perfect Mate,” was published. Sources:
