It’s recommended that you only put the stainless steel mixing bowl in the dishwasher. Other parts are dishwasher safe for the top rack such as the coated beaters but they will last longer if you wash them by hand. The wire whip should only ever be hand washed as it will tarnish (darken) in the dishwasher. The k45ss stand mixer body has been designed to be easily wiped clean due to its smooth lines.
