Which parrot will get along with a macaw?
What type you chose to add has very little to do with it. There is no guarantee that any other kind of bird will for sure, get along with a Macaw, nor it with them. What matters is how they are introduced, after a 30 DAY MINIMUM QUARANTINE. When quarantine is over, you first put the cages in the same room and just let them get used to each other for awhile. Then you can open the cage doors so they can come out when they want but you must give 100% supervision for the first several times they are out together. There is no way for you to influence it that much. They will decide if they get along, or not. The only thing you can do to try to help is to always remember the jealousy issues. Once they are in the same room, when you enter, always greet your original bird first. If you use cage covers, always uncover the original bird first.
