Which Opera house in Paris is better, Opera Bastille or the old Opera house?
The Palais Garnier is so much better than the Opera Bastille, which looks like its a giant convention center. The Opera Bastille has little character versus the Granier. I remember reading about how the Parisians bashed the Opera Bastille when it opened. There is only one, real Parisian opera house, and that is the Garnier! It is dripping with history and has been guested by all the greats. From the wiki article: The foundation stone was laid in 1861 followed by the start of construction in 1862.
