Bull Mastiff, Smaller than a Mastiff, not much difference in size from a Pit, but Bull Matiff’s are slightly less violent.

If you are really ugly and have bandy legs, get a pit bull. You can both glare at people with utter hatred (you need to try the empty tin of lager test first – can you crush it whilst looking hard?). If you want to show your superb muscles under your fake tan and can really swear a lot, and drag a dog chain around get a Mastiff (but you need to wear shorts and have bandy legs too). If you hate your Kids, get a German Shepherd; they can rip a kids face to shreds in seconds. I tend to find it is the Humans that are the scariest; any mongrel dog will protect your kids (and are a damn sight more faithful).

I hope you realize that a well-bred, properly socialized American Pit Bull Terrier should exhibit no human aggression whatsoever. The only reason that they have a bad rap for being dangerous towards humans is because of the morons who didn’t properly socialize and train their pits, so they ended up with monsters. Assuming that you aren’t a moron and WILL purchase a WELL-BRED puppy and WILL socialize said puppy EXTENSIVELY, then your pit wouldn’t be an ideal guard dog. They were carefully bred to be safe around humans; in the dog fighting ring, the dog’s owner had to be able to pull the dog from the ring without risk of being bitten, so any pit that showed even the slightest human aggression was culled. As such, if you’re looking for a guardian breed, the pit is not the right choice because they tend to be quite friendly and clownish. Pitbulls and Staffordshire Bull Terriers are exceptional dogs in a good family home. But they require alot of work to train, and an undisciplined Bull Terrier can be a right little monkey. Don’t be fooled by a bull terriers size. Centuries of selective breeding has managed to shoe horn the muscles of a large dog onto a small frame. Their power to weight ratio is staggering, they are very strong dogs. But if you have experience with dogs, and you are good at dog discipline, then you will never have a better companion than a bull terrier. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_8zPj0KvguCM/R23bFm… If not, then I would not recommend any of the breeds you mention, otherwise they will take over the house, and you will be bringing them their news paper and slippers.
