Visual art is an arbitrary classification. Of those, only painting is always included. Some exclude photography as being an art at all. Some exclude printmaking as being a craft for reproducing art. Some exclude sculpture as being 3D. In most universities, film making is not in the art department- it has it’s own department. In my opinion, if you look at it, it’s visual. Even performing arts should be considered visual arts.
