Which nations originally sponsored the United Nations Charter and which nations initially signed it?
The United Nations is based on the refinement of numerous proposals set forth by China, the former Soviet Union, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and the United Sates of America. These proposals were worked out by the representatives of 50 Nations, at the United Nations Conference on International Organization in San Francisco from April to June of 1945. In addition to the original sponsors, these nations became the original signatories of The United Nations.
