Which Movies Are Destined to Fall Off the IMDB Top 250 List by Years End?
Good news, everyone, as Professor Farnsworth of Futurama used to say. The Dark Knight is no longer considered the greatest movie ever made according to the IMDB Top 250. No, the title of greatest movie ever made now belongs to The Shawshank Redemption. What! Geez, I’d rather The Dark Knight had stayed atop the IMDB Top 250 list. What in the hell is with the IMDB voters’ fascination with The Shawshank Redemption? Even The Godfather is a better movie and that still wouldn’t crack my own personal top 30 list of greatest movies of all time. If you’ll remember, a whopping 13 movies from 2007 entered into the list of the 250 movies of all time even though just a mere three movies from 1939, often cited as the greatest year ever for movies, only produced 3 of the 250 films on IMDB’s list.
