Which movie do you like more?Interview Of The Vampire or Lost Boys?
They’re really very different films, made by very different directors with very different styles, but if pressed I’d cast my vote for "Interview with the Vampire." "Lost Boys" is a fun ride, packed with lots of good versus evil and Corey goodness, but "Interview" is a deeper, more complex film that manages to be monumentally entertaining at the same time. "Lost Boys" will definitely do if you’re simply looking for a smile or two, but "Interview" is a flick that stays with you for days thanks to the haunting, enchanting tone set by Neil Jordan’s direction and wonderful performances by Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt (not to mention a very young Kirsten Dunst). It’s a film with a greater presence, one that hangs in your head like a really memorable dream. Therefore, it’s better for me.
Interview With A Vampire is overall a better story and film I feel. The Lost Boys has some great parts, and some great music and ambiance, but it is definitely a bit cheesy in areas too. Overall I think Kiefer Sutherland as David plays the best vampire in either movie, but I just think Interview is a more solid film start to finish. I have nothing really against Tom Cruise, but I don’t really think he was a scary enough Le Stat. Interview kinda deserved a better Le Stat I think, but it’s still the better film to me.
