Which metallic element is used as an anti corrosiin coating on steel?
Steel can be coated with ZINC or TIN as a protection against corrosion. A ‘Tin’ as used for canning foods is not made of tin but is coated ferrous metal to prevent ‘Rusting’ of the metal, in the same way as a ‘Zinc’ coating. Zinc is also used as a ‘Sacrificial Anode’ on Ship’s Keels and Pipelines. For the skeptics, check with a search engine…I’ve worked with these systems for some time.
