Which material is better for holsters, Leather or Kydex?.
This really is a personal preference. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. Leather is more pleasing to the eye and a more traditional look. It can be easier on the finish so long as you keep it clean. Leather will pick up dust and dirt from moisture which can scratch the finish. In humid conditions, it will loose its shape over time and can cause a “sloppy” fit. Because it is a natural product, it takes care and upkeep to extend it’s useful life. Kydex, on the other hand, has a more utilitarian look. it won’t loose its shape and can be adjusted to perfect fit. Upkeep is nothing more than a rinsing off.
