Which marine compasses will fit the universal accessory hatch cover?

0

Our hatch cover accepts surface mount style compasses up to 4 inches outside diameter. The quality compasses such as the Aqua Meter Sailor II and the Ritchie S59 and S59W have snap-off bases with pre-drilled mounting holes. Simply screw in the hatch cover, orient the base in the desired position, and drill through the hatch cover. We recommend at least two machine screws we use #8×32 brass screws and stainless nylock #32 nuts. The choice of the bolt head depends on the clearance. Round heads normally work well. Many other smaller compasses will fit as well. Just choose one allowing at least two fasteners. You may consider stainless sheet metal screws through the underside of the hatch on some of the smaller units. Check for compasses at your favorite kayak store, or see what s available by these online links:www.ritchienavigation.
