Which Loans Qualify for the Military College Loan Repayment Program (CLRP)?
The College Loan Repayment Program or CLRP is an education enlistment incentive granted to qualified individuals serving the US Military. Depending on the type of the military service an applicant is affiliated with, he or she can avail up to $65,000 of the fund to repay any of his or her eligible student loan. Qualifying Loans The following student loans availed by an eligible Armed Forces member are covered by the CLRP: • Stafford Loans or Guaranteed Loans • Perkins Loans or National Direct Student Loans • Auxiliary Loan Assistance for Students • Supplemental Loans for Students • Federally Insured Student Loans • PLUS or Parents Loans for Undergraduate • Consolidated Loans (exclusively covers the Army member’s educational expenses) Non-Qualifying Loans An enlisted service member cannot use the CLRP to repay the following loans that he or she might have acquired: • State Funded Loans • Private Loans • Institution Loans • Equity Loans • Consolidated Loans made for member’s relatives li
