Which Laptop Spec Is Better (Processor/RAM Comparison)?
They both provide enough power for everyday computing (music, pictures, HD video, office work, etc.)… so unless you are a gamer or an extreme multitasker, or in graphic design, I’d go with the Athlon Neo. It consumes far less power than the i5 which translates to longer battery life. The Neo consumes 15W, where as the Core i5 consumes 35W. So if the two laptops where running on the same battery, the Neo laptop would run for about twice as long. However, the Core i5 is significantly faster. Again, this speed would be wasted if you are not gaming or doing something really intensive. The additional RAM helps for multi-tasking as well, but anything more than 2GB will do fine.
