Which kind of CTs are required to create the SimPlant 3D files?

A. We can convert almost all types of DICOM (multifile – raw) files into SimPlant 3D files (.s1s, .sim or .spr). Cone Beam and Spiral CTs are supported. In any case it is most advisable to send the following instructions to the radiology institute before performing the scans, in order to assure the best results. We only need the raw DICOM files (usually .dcm files) to create the 3D SimPlant file. Please keep in mind that the above instructions are for the minimun requirements, better results from modern equipment are obviously accepted. The field of view doesn’t appear in the instructions (unless you see a newer version of the protocol) and should be (ideal) around 14 cm for a spiral CT and 6 or better 8 cm for a cone beam CT.
