Which is the most transferable file type to rip music into?
You are right in thinking that mp3 is the most flexible and transferable file type, as that is why mp3 players have that name – they play mp3’s. ITunes uses AAC files, which I have found only to work on I-devices, such as Ipods, Iphones, etc. A smaller file size, which allows more music to fit, would be WMA (Windows Media Audio) but not all devices support this format. There are smaller file sizes than WMA, but the sound quality is poorer, and few devices support these smaller sizes. So to summarise: MP3 is the most transferable type, but WMA is slightly smaller. It’s up to you which you go for, but the facts are all there for you to check.
