Which Is the Most Intriguing Story in Greek Mythology? Sunday November 26, 2006 Aphrodite’s Head From Botticelli’s Birth of Venus © Clipart.comI received the following question in email: “Which story do you find most intriguing in Greek Mythology?” The word ‘intriguing’ suggests to me a story that I can think about over and over again and come up with new insights. While the tales told in Greek tragedy can be pleasurably watched over and over again, perhaps achieving a catharsis or cleansing, I don’t find them intriguing. Comedy can be entertaining to watch while providing insights into and puzzles about the contemporary culture, but I can’t think of a comedy that intrigues me.
