Which is the longest bridge in world and where?
In general, bridges are judged by the longest span. This means that they are judged based on the length of connection from point A to point B, without piers and arches underneath.
The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in Japan is the world’s longest bridge. This suspension bridge was opened in 1998 after 10 years of construction. It spans 1,991 meters (5,973 feet.) It connects the islands of Honshu and Shikoku and is the eastern route to connect the islands.
