Which is the highest waterfall in india?

Perhaps the confusion is between a plunge waterfall and a tiered waterfall. Kunchikal Falls, at a height of 1,493 feet (455 meters), are the highest TIERED waterfalls in India. Located near Agumbe in Shimoga district of state of Karnataka, Kumchikal falls are formed by Varahi river. Jog Falls is India’s highest PLUNGE waterfall; but at 829 feet (253 meters), it is the 11th “highest” waterfall in India. There are many waterfalls in Asia – and also in India – which drop from a higher altitude. But, unlike those falls, Jog Falls is untiered (i.e., it drops directly and does not stream on to rocks). Thus, it can be described as the highest untiered or plunge waterfalls in India. [NOTE: Until very recently, the TIERED Dudhsagar Falls in Goa, India, was thought to stand 1,968 feet tall; however, the most current view is that the total drop is 1,017 feet (310 meters), well below the height of Kunchikal Falls.] Please see Source(s) below.
