Maracanã was once the biggest stadium in the world. IT didn´t hold nearly 200,000 people ot held over 200,000 people. It is no longer the largest, since, it currently only holds 55,000 due to construction work being done on it. But when completed it will hold 93,000. The largest soccer stadium in the world, is the Azteca stadium in Mexico City, seating approximately 100,000 people, it holds just a little over that number. However, the largest stadium is in North Korea, and it seats over 250,000 people. But it is not just for soccer, since Kim Jung Ill uses it for pro government rallies, and arhletic events. And it does not follow FIFA requirements.
