Which is the better of these two special forces – Americas Navy Seals or Britains SAS?
they both actually do the same job, its just people that don’t know that say they do different roles, SEALs stands for SEa Air Land, they do the same roles as the SAS, although the SAS primarily a land based unit has a boat troop which specialises in waterborne insertions, they both do the same roles, deep battle space intelligence, sabotage, tactical eliminations, close protect, counter terrorist, and many more, the SAS are trained differently to the SEALs, and in the difference, the SAS has a lot more skill, the SAS are just the elite of the special forces world, the SAS and SBS train most other SF units, including the USMC,SEALs, SFOD-D, GSG9,FFL, and any of the others, the UKSF [SAS,SBS and SRR] are the most Professional, best trained, i would rather be backed by the SAS than by the Seals without a second thought, and plus they are British and that just makes them the Best, i no loads of americans are gonner disagree with, becuase they, think they know loads about SFs and what not, w
British are better trained than the americans no doubt. But the navy seals are different and do different jobs than the SAS. SAS = Special Air Service so insert by air most of the time Navy Seals are amphibious but mainly enter via water similar to the british SBS. The SAS take on different roles while from what I know the Seals do not.
