Which is the best pain killer for stomach pain caused by periods?
Drugs of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory class (NSAIDs) may help to relieve the pain of menstrual cramps. Your OB/GYN may recommend over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, etc.) and/or naproxen (Aleve), starting the day BEFORE your period begins. Prescription NSAIDs (such as mefenamic acid) are also available. It is always best to consult your physician or pharmacist before taking any medications new to you.
