By the time you get to high school, students are beginning to diversify to the point where there is probably no one “best” curriculum. Any high school guidance counselor can tell you that they can only help a kid so far as that kid has some direction and some idea of what they want out of life. The home school kid should have a really good idea by that time. They aren’t just following the pack, or the best intentions of their teachers, parents and counselors. Home school kids learn early on to direct and lead their own learning. By the time they hit high school, they have probably already set a course for their lives and are directing it. Some are already in college when the average public school kid is starting high school. I’ve known more than a few in my home state alone who were already graduating college at 15. I’ve known one that was a pre-med sophomore at 17. Even if your kid isn’t taking that path, my guess is that they will already have a pretty good idea what they want to do
