If you are new to Broadway, I would recommend something like hairspray, Wicked, The Lion King, Grease, or Xanaduu. These are great beginners, really fun for everyone. If you are looking for a more serious, maybe controversial show, try RENT or Spring Awakening. These shows are not for everyone, they are best for the open minded adult. If you are looking for pure comedy, try Avenue Q or Spamalot. A great show for aspiring actors of dancers is A Chorus Line. Phantom of the Opera is a Broadway Classic. In the Heights is a great new show about Washington Heights, a neighborhood in NYC. It’s a great show, especially if you love Latino music. If you are with children, I would reccomend Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, or grease. These shows are great for a whole family. If you are only in town for the week, you can get cheap tickets the day of the show at Tkts, a stand in Time Square.
