There is no such thing as a best free anything. Especially AV’s. All free AV’s have there problems. AVG, over bloated crap ware that has no root kit detection worth a flip. It can’t remove spyware. It barely detects malware and will not remove it. Avast, No heuristics. Without heuristic scanning you will be a sitting duck. Every page you go to you will have to worry if it’s infected with a heuristic virus. Millions of pages are. Every time you download something you will have to worry if it’s infected heuristically. If it is you will be screwed because Avast will not remove it. The boot time scanner will be worthless in this case. Avira, Has problems updating and with faults positives. So pick your poison. Just don’t get mad when it lets you down.
