Which is more prestigious the Victoria Cross or the Medal of Honour?
Victoria Cross, but only just. Both medals are only awarded for the most courageous acts of bravery and as such it’s unfair to choose either way, but if I have to make a decision then the VC gets it by a small margin (but only just). The Victoria Cross (VC) is the highest military decoration awarded for valour “in the face of the enemy” to members of the armed forces of some Commonwealth countries and previous British Empire territories. They’re both as pretigious as the other – In most cases, the highest distinctions that can be awarded in any military require the same kind of selfless actions. The number of issued shouldn’t make a difference – If ten Medals of Honor were awarded each week to soldiers jumping on grenades to save their friends, it’d still have as much prestige as a Victoria Cross.
