Which is more important in determining the quality of a sound recording–the microphone or the recording unit?
Because it is the gateway to your recording, your recording can be only as good as your microphone allows. While both are important, it is possible to get a good recording from a great microphone and poor recording unit, but the best recording unit can make only a poor recording from a poor microphone.
