Which is more energy efficient – using paper napkins or machine washing and drying cloth ones?

Guest5618 When it comes to machine washing and drying cloth napkins, I think that the napkins a family would use would just slide into the weekly or daily wash without being noticed too much. I don't think that the napkins would add a noticeable amount to the energy/water/detergent usage. However, using paper napkins involves trees/energy/BLEACH. I think that washing cloth napkins is more environmentally sound. My advice: wipe your hands on your jeans. That's what they're for. You're going to wash them anyway.
